The Son Seekers Class
The overall theme of this class is in its name. Many live and visit south
Florida
where the sun almost always shines. The idea is that in this place we also would
seek to grow in our relationship with the Son of God, our Savior.
In the Son Seekers Class a variety of resources are used, however our primary resource is the Bible. In that sense the best description of what we do is Bible study.
This is done in several ways. Sometimes we concentrate on a book of the
Bible. We just finished several weeks on the book of Hebrews. During the summer we examined the book of Judges. Sometimes
we look at individuals in the Bible. Not so long ago we spent time with Ruth
and Esther, and the loves of these godly women from scripture. We also examined
the issues of living as believers in today’s society in the light of God’s Word, taking to heart, “Thy Word
is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105) We have
looked at core beliefs under the authority of scripture. In late summer we took
the statements of the Apostle’s Creed and examined what we say that we believe under the authority of scripture.
Ultimately is about knowing what the Word of God says so we can live in obedience, make decisions in the light of this
knowledge, and have confidence in the love and grace that is ours through a growing relationship with our Lord.
There are no age requirements for the Son
Seekers Class—all are welcome. Some of us are retired and some are not. Some are grandparents and some are not. It
is not necessary to be a “Bible scholar” to be a member of this class. After
all, the goal is to begin to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word. I am
convinced that, if one seeks to know what God reveals in scripture, the Spirit will be present to lead the one who is the
seeker. Dave Moore is the Leader
